Thursday 17th january.
Today we had big intentions of starting early. We got up for breakfast and were presented with a nice omelette with bread and crunchy rice cake, dried bananas and ….something else!
Well, we got up from our breakfast after 9. Our cook, Nali was most charming and seemed sad to see us leave. She seemed to enjoy our company and practising her English.
Our ride today was from Kasi to beautiful Vang Vieng, a distance of 45 miles or so. The scenery was spectacular, the road surface was horrendous, the worst we have yet encountered. It made the journey alot harder than we had anticipated.
Around every corner was yet another photo to be had. Matt C has received a verbal warning for stepping into our photos and video recording.
We arrived in VV tired and very dusty. The road is dusty and every time a bus or truck goes past you get covered. Not great, but you learn to hold your breath!
Still, a latte coffee and a cinnamon cake put those annoyances to one side…..very easily!
Hotel has an amazing view. We are looking forward to some more varied food this evening. Tubing tomorrow down the river..should be fun….
Special mention for Miss Curtis, my daughters geography teacher, who I think is monitoring the 3blokes progress.

Sandra is asking: what are the toilets like?

Squat variety generally. Some western style but flushing is done with a bucket!

Been there, done that in Morocco. Don’t move your feet around too much!
